Never Give Up on YOU

Never, ever, ever give up.

I’ve got a mug that I drink my coffee in every morning which is based on Winston Churchill’s famous quote, “Never, ever, ever give up.” And look, the fact is, is that I can’t even tell you, I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve thought of giving up. I can’t even tell you. Because I’ve had a lot of businesses, I’ve been around for a few years, but I’ve hit so many times rock bottom and so many times I thought, “Oh my God, I have to give up. This is just too much.” But I kept going. I always kept going.

I had this thing, especially if I had a bad day, I’ve had that feeling, that sensation, the next morning that I had to fight, I had to carry on. And so many times when I thought I would just literally not going to make it and then I just pulled it off, so many times. And I think a lot of people that work with me have said that and they say, “Oh, you’ll always pull it off,” because they believe that I can. And I’ve got to say that sometimes I have doubted in myself, so often. Yeah, I’ve been there. I’ve nearly given up so many times with so many different businesses that I’ve been involved in, in so many different situations, with so many different projects that so it’s just been difficult.

But look, it really is about keeping the eye on the prize. Look, I believe you’ve got to set up really high expectations and big objectives, big goals in your life. But a lot of the times people just give up too easily, and they give up too easily because they’re just not really committed. I’m saying to you that if you have a project, if you have something that you want to do, you’ve got to go all in. Another quote of mine is “All or nothing”. You’ve got to go all in, all in. And if you have a bad day, then there’s another day and then there’s another day and then there’s another day, and you just got to keep going and going and going. But every single successful person, every athlete, every conqueror, every explorer, everyone that’s done anything that’s been worthwhile doing have always thought of giving up, but they kept on going.

You have to stay focused. You have to stay with that idea in mind of where you’re going and just keep going, keep going. I think I read on New Year’s resolutions that 43 or 50% of the people give up by February on their goals for the year, by February. I mean it’s 12 months for heaven’s sake to give up a month or two. You’ve just got to take one day at a time, take the objective in mind and just keep going.

But then when you’re planning in doing something, make sure that you prepare for the challenges you’re going to have, and this might happen and that might happen and this might happen, so you’ve got those contingencies in place, at least in your mind. You’ve gone through them and you’re prepared for it, but it’s down to the mindset. It starts with the mindset.

With all the people that I work with and all the people that I’ve coached, my focus is always mindset. The mindset comes also from what I call the holistic approach of making sure that you eat well, you exercise, you meditate, but you have to have the right mindset. And if you haven’t got the right mindset, you need to get someone to help you. Because you might have everything, everything, but if you haven’t got the mindset, then you’re just not going to get there. Keep going, keep going, keep going. Never, ever give up. Thank you so much.
