Hi, Bernardo here. One of the things I talk about very frequently, and it’s actually part of my manifesto, is I talk about the idea that people should read their own book.
It’s one of the things that really shocks me and surprises me. Well, I suppose it’s like everything and like every industry, there’s different ethics when it comes down to working, the quality of your work, but it’s about congruency. I think there’s a lot of people, as I’ve said, I think they should read their own book. And they’re completely incongruent, because I’ve come across people that talk about happiness, and write about happiness, and their workshops are around happiness and then, in life, they’re very miserable.
And then I come across people that talk about success and they’ve actually never been successful, or they talk about entrepreneurship and they’ve never been an entrepreneur, and so on, and so on. If you’re going to do anything in this industry, and God knows that the world needs leaders, and all of you should step forward to share expertise, to provide inspiration, to provide people with hope, but if you are be congruent. Be completely congruent with your message. You’ve got to be aligned with what you believe in, and what you say, and the way that you deal with life, and the way you deal with people, but be very congruent.
And that’s one of the things that I stand for and I think The Best You stands is around the idea of being extremely congruent and honest, and extremely honest. Because, look, you can lie to someone once, twice, three times, eventually you’ll be called out. And I think that’s one of the things that I mention in my manifesto. A lot of people that maybe started with the right intensions, but then they’ve lost their way. They are now simply in it to take as much money as they can out of people in whatever program they’re selling, and they’re not really focusing on helping people.
And I know there’s a lot of people out there that are doing amazing work, and they’re extremely generous, and I’m honored, and blessed, and thankful for the work that they do. And I’m excited and delighted to work with so many of them, but I just want to make sure that you appreciate the responsibility that you have as Peter Parker’s uncle said, “With great power comes great responsibility.” And with great responsibility comes great power. So make sure that you do that, and that’s one of the main things that you need to do. Whatever you’re going to write about, whatever you’re going to be talking about, whatever you’re going to be sharing, whatever you’re going to be helping people within whatever way you choose to inspire be congruent, be honest, and lead the way.
